MP60 Thoughts

I was at the range last night and saw a guy with the new MP-60's and asked him how it like them he was pleased with them and then offered to let me hit them. I only hit the 7i but I am very impressed with them. I like the way they setup and the feel is amazing. I am currently playing TA5's so this is a big difference for me. It seemed like there was more offset then my TA5's but I think its becuase of the smaller head then my TA5's. I am looking for a more workable set of clubs for my next set and these might be on it.

Did you compare the TA5s and MP60s side by side? I just picked up some MP60s. I have been playing TA5s. So I pulled the 4-irons. There's much less offset in the Mizunos.

I didn't set them side by side but I know it's all mental in my head I think the smaller head on the MP60 made it look like more offset. Atleast to me it did.

Well, you made me check them! LOL

I picked up the MP60s Wednesday night. Then read your post Thursday. Since getting reduced offset irons was one of my criteria in picking the MP60s, I was thinking "what did I do?" I couldn't find the TA5 offset specs on the Web, so I had to go home Thursday night and compare them head to head. I was pretty sure, but it was good to confirm that the MP60s have substantially less offset.

If these play like the demos I had out, I'm going to be very happy. I felt that they were almost as forgiving as the TA5s on misses, but with a lot better feel. And they're so dang purty!

How are the yardage distances on the MP60s VS the TA5s? The TA5s are on the stronger side, the 7i is 2 degrees stronger I think. Also how about the ball flight.? Are you using the same shaft in the 60s VS the 5s? I play the TA5s now, like them but I would like to move up to a more workable club. Last question any idea what the swing weight is on the MP60s, the TA5s are D0 I think, looking for something a little heavier. Sorry for all the questions, thanks.

I am thinking of getting 6.0 project x with MP 60. I did a static fitting and it recommended 7.0. I think it might be too stiff. I've heard project X plays a little stiffer than DG.
