help with shaft.

I am thinking of reshafting my Nike SQ 9.5 driver. It currently has the stock diamana stiff flex shaft in it. I don't really balloon it that much but the ball flight tends to be a little higher than I like (i am a high ball hitter) and I have a tendency to slice or fade more than draw the ball when I miss it. My swing tempo is average to quick (when I go after it) and my swing speed is 107+ consistently. I drive the ball 275-300, sometimes longer when it isn't in the next fairway :lol: I just want to get the ball flight down more consistently, as I state I hit the ball high, especially my irons.

I have looked at the Grafalloy Bi-Matrix and the Prolaunch Red. Grafalloy's fitting web site suggested the red in x flex. My problem is that I am afraid to switch and make things worse. I would love to try these shafts some where first to see how they feel. Any suggestions or comments on these shafts or any others would be great. I searched the forums and realize that shaft comments are very much hit or miss and most people either love or hate a specific shaft. So if you have similar numbers or swing speeds please help me out. Thanks.

How about a VS Proto? I've used one in a Sumo and it went pretty good. Iam also a high ballhitter and on top of it i have a high spinrate. Or if you can get your hand on to one a RT Technologies ZEUS shafts are AMAZING. They've worked very good and any heads i used. serch RT Technologies on google and you'll find their site.

I stuck a VS Proto in my SQ Tour and that has made for a monster combo for me.

I have a SQ tour model and have had great success with the Proforce V2. The ball flight is amazing; high when you want it, and low and boring if need be. Even though it is in X, you still get a great deal of feel from it. I also opted for the 76 gram shaft so I could feel it a bit more. If the ball doesn't fly on line, it's all you. There is very little torque (2.2).

I know several other players who opted for the Proforce, and none has been dissatisfied.

I installed a V2 X Stiff in my SUMO2 and LOVE IT...WHAT A ROCKET!!!

I could not agree more. Best combo I have ever hit. Probably gave me 10 yards and and 15 yards into the wind.

I stopped by my local Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday and talked to the guy that does their club fittings because I had heard good things about his work. He recommended that I should be in an x-flex with my swing, and he also recommended that I try to try out these shafts before I buy. He said they don't sell anything over stiff flex but if I bought the shaft that he could do the install there.

Anyway he told me that he had been hitting the SQ2 with the proforce V2 that they had in the store when no one was around and he really liked it. I may take a trip to golf galaxy tommorrow and see if I can swing the V2 in the store to get a feel for it.
