Titliest Velocity

I know this forum doesn’t get a lot of traffic but I played Wed and hit the Velocity(white, bought at PGA Superstore last year) and just wanted to make a quick few comments.

Last summer played mostly with the Pro V1. I like the pro v but it just never seemed to have the snap off the club-head as I remember in the 90’s playing the old 100 compression balls. Back then I usually played the DT-100, never bothered with Balatas.

Anyway I really hit well off the tee and my irons were mostly solid contact. I have to tell you this ball has that nice snap and sound like I remember from the 90’s balls. I had some Next Tours I was going to try but this ball was working so well for me I never switched. One time I hit my friends Volvik(i think 2nd tier down from tour ball) but nothing special so it was back to the velocity.

I hit some nice approach shots with 6 -8 irons and though the greens had been recently stamped out( whatever the correct term is) and somewhat sandy, no issues holding the green. Oh the the whole course was pretty dried out as we haven’t had much rain.

On a few wayward drives I found myself hitting off pretty much deadpan. Actually I loved it because I haven’t played a course that required these shots

regularly since living in Fort Worth. The ball feels nice and soft off the clubhead from these lies.

I don’t make much a fuss about how a ball is with putting so I really didnt feel anything different compared to the pro v1. Chipping, nothing out of the ordinary for me.

Granted this was my first time playing the ball and the greens were obviously not normal, it will be interesting to see how approaches play out on normal condition greens.

Overall this ball is a hit. Great performance off the tee and easy to hit with mid and long irons. Approaches, no concern with holding green with 5 iron through wedge (i didnt hit any approaches with long irons)

Fwiw currently my driver clubhead speed is low 90’s. Although personally I don’t pay much attention to ball fitting,(I hit what works for me based on personal experience) I’m sure it has a lot to do with why it’s working for me. Check it out. I think they are about 29 a dozen.
