Course Recommendations For The Sebring, Florida Area

Heading down to Sebring Florida the last 2 weeks of February with some friends and need some course recommendations. Our handicaps range from 7-14 and not too concerned about costs. Any advice will be wll appreciated.

If your not concearned about costs, then I would consider playing Streamsong one of the days you are there. If you guys can walk, you can play 36 holes without a caddy for around $275.00. It looks like you are around 45 minutes to an hour away. Its worth the drive. It is not typical FL golf. Its quite an experience!

My Grandma lives in Lake Placid, FL (about 15 miles from Sebring). My dad has played a lot of courses down there, so I asked him for advice (I have not played down there). He said the best one is Sun 'N Lakes CC. It has two 18 hole courses, but he said he likes the Turtle Run one better. The other good one is Country Club of Sebring. It used to be private but now it is public and it was in very good condition the last time he played it.

Take this with a slight grain of salt - he and I sometimes have different ideas of what a "good" course is. I am on golfwrx, he is not.

And I am dying to check out Streamsong. It definitely looks like you could do a day trip there from Sebring.

i have played in Sebring quite a few times and I wouldn't say it's the best place to play high end golf courses. The best one in Sebring is Highland Ridge which is actually really nice, at least when I played it a couple years ago. That would definitely be the one I would recommend. Other than that I have played Placid Lakes a bunch of times which would be cheaper. Their greens are pretty nice but the fairways and rough are really bad. It's still a fun course to play though because it's got a cool layout. Iv'e also played another one, I think it's called Sebring Country Club and it was short and kind of boring. I have never played Sun N Lakes but I have heard it's pretty good as well.
