I think I am going to end up with couple more putters than I had expected. Now, I am interested acquiring TP Mills Softtail model or Tradition model in blasted stainless finish. Can anyone enlighten me with information on the difference between these two putters? I believe Tradition is 10g heavier.... so those of you who use both putters, do you lose distance control with head that is 360g such as Tradition?

Also, does anyone know.. if I want to put the hosel of Tradition on the same place as Softtail (more towards heel), would this cost more or considered custom? Would this throw off the balance of Tradition?

I think I am going to end up with couple more putters thatn I had expected. Now, I am interested acquiring TP Mills Softtail model. I really like the black carbon steel finish, but i am worried that it will rust easily. I just got Mizuno Bettinardi putter and I believe they are plated so that reduces chance of rusting.

 

Can anyone comment on the finish/rust durability of this putter? As I said in earlier post, I've heard SC Circa '62 needs to be oiled and taken care of carefully or else it will start rusting. Is it the same case for carbon steel TP Mills putters? Will the finish wear out? If so how fast?

 

Another thought would be getting 304ss model. However, I am not sure how it will feel. I am sure it will last a long time and ding less. I would appreciate if someone could provide a short review of 304ss and carbon steel model in terms of feel, finish, prone to dings/nicks..etc. Thanks.

 

 

 

Black oxide putters do need a little more care than a stainless putter does, but I believe you will find that our black oxide holds up better than others. It still does require some maintenance, but nothing of extraordinary means.

 

- Don't put your putter up wet/damp/moist

 

- always wipe your putter down with a dry cloth after a round

 

- don't use a wet headcover

 

- a couple of times per year wipe your putter down with baby oil, WD-40 or sewing machine oil

What is standar neck/hosel that TP Mills uses on their Professional Series? Does this neck have no offset or 1/2 shaft offset or full shaft offset? Thanks!

that is the standard set up on a tradition. hosel more towards the heel.
