Nike to buy Adidas?

Salomon does not own Adidas, just TaylorMade. There is a brand agreement between the two to market together. Which is why there are some TM Tour players who don't wear Adidas and why some none TM players who do wear Adidas, like Tim Clark and Jim Furyk (who just wear the shoes). If your Nike, you have to be Nike all the way. Or at less what you wear, no other logos. (Example, when Paul Casey made his Anti-US statements a couple of years ago, Titliest couldn't have dropped him faster. So, Nike picked him up. However, Casey still had a long term contract with Lacoste. For a couple of months, Casey had to honor this contract. Than, Nike threw money at Loacoste to get him at of it. Now, head to toe Nike.)

 

So, it could be possible. I'm pretty sure many shoe and chothing contracts would go over to Nike. But I doubt TM would give up the hat, bag, and equp. contracts.

 

Personally I don't like it. I believe the more companies out there making products, the better those products will be.

Other than the one article has anyone been able to find more news on this subject? I have looked through most major news websites business sections and I don’t even hear a peep about it? I know that it is just primarily a rumor but usually there would be some type of coverage.

PROBLEM???? What problem bar a few Sumo2 not meeting the correct tolerances! (Whats the odds on every manufacturer having slight problems)

 

What Nike have a problem..........come on!!!

 

I dont think that Nike, who supply the greatest golfer to be (ever) in Tiger, have a great range of clubs, along with a fantastic range of Apparel & Footwear have a problem do you?

 

The younger generation crave Nike Products!!

golf I never really liked any of their products they have always seemed like they are so unoriginal and generic.

 

Funny how you could say that Nike product is so unoriginal and generic??? Think about that statement for a miunte and then thin again...Not liking Nike is the right of anyone and everyone but to make such blanket statements that is a joke. Just a couple Nike innovations...

1) Slingshot Technology= Changing the Geometry of a Iron to promote higher MOI for enhanced forgiveness. Welded face for a larger hitting area...Air CG=40 gram placed to control ball flight.

2) Nike One Ball=4 piece; 3-cover technology that everyone is using.

3) Sasquatch driver= Geometry club that promotes forgiveness through changing the Geometry of the club. Wider face and longer sole moves CG farther away.

Cobra LD Driver= Geometry

TM Burner=Geometry

Hi-Bore/Hi-Bore XL= Geometry
