Hey guys.

There is a good chance that I will be relocating to that area. Since I have no knowledge of the area, I was wondering if I could ask your help in regards to were to purchase a house. The office I will be working at will be in the Research Triangle Park. I have 3 kids (13, 8, & 6), so I am looking for a home in a good school district. I would like a shortish commute (no more than 25 minutes). Obviously I would like to live either on or near a golf course, preferably a good one, but a good range facitlity is more important to me, since I will be practicing there more than playing. My price range for the house is between $400,000 - $500,000.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Deon

Apex/Cary area is good and probably where you should look, but expensive for what you get IMHO. It will be in your price range, I think.

Holly Springs is a nice area, also...just south of Apex and within 25 minutes of RTP. Devil's Ridge Country Club has quite a few houses for sale right now.

There's a golf community called Preston in Cary that would be an ideal location for you with a great golf course. Google it and see what you think. It's on the RTP side of Cary.

I hope others will chime in as my knowledge of this aspect of the area is limited. I live about 35 miles from there, but know some of the area's reputations.

Anybody else???

Preston area of Cary would be ideal IF you join Prestonwood CC.

It the the BEST CC for families in the area....54 holes...great practice facilities....pool/waterslide etc is great..

Clubhouse is about 50,000 sq ft. , food is great...locker rooms are rediculous....

The guy that owns SAS owns the club (and subsidizes alot of $$) The intiation is aound 40k...with modest monthly dues and minimums . If this club was not owned by him....it would be atleast double the price..

that being said...if you dont join... i wouldn't live anywhere near that area..

Unless you are flexible about your commute, Cary won't work. With traffic, it will likely take longer to RTP. You may look in the Brier Creek area, off 540. That is a very nice club with a great course, and is very close to RTP. You might also consider the Pittsboro, Chapel Hill area, although that commute will also be a little longer. Chapel Ridge and The Preserve are very nice semi private clubs.

You have gotten alot of good suggestions. A few others you might check out are The Heritage in Wake Forest,Wakefield Plantation (TPC Wakefield) and Wildwood Green in Raleigh . All three are close to I540, which provides an easy commute to RTP.

definately go with the cary/apex area, great school system, great houses, in the middle of everything, shopping, movies, golf courses. Plus we dont have to worry about the toxic chemical plant anymore!

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
