Confused

Everything I do should force a left to right ballflight from what it looks like, but my natural ballflight is a draw, my front knee dives to China ( which I believe is due to my front foot not being flared enough) Hard to tell but I feel like my shoulder turn is actually to steep... Hmph, driver is usually 280ish, 8 iron 160, ballflight a lo wish draw due to a strong grip. I thought my positin at the top would be very closed but it doesn't seem to bad. Comments? Posture to bent? Not to mention my gross amount of hip over rotation lol. Also, I play to a 12

I'll go ahead and state it to spare you -- There are many who believe not much at all can be learned without the ball actually being down there. I'm personally a little on the fence about that one. It must be true that 90% of us swing, act, and think a little differently when the ball is actually down there. So I suppose it is a very real issue... but I do think its OK to show your typical swing motion just as a reality check to see if anything glaring pops up.


If you get the chance, throw us a face on swing (with the ball). The biggest thing I notice is what appears to be a right elbow that seems to want to bend really early and remain really low soon after takeaway. You don't often see the right elbow bent that must when the hands are still below the right breast. This seems to keep your swing very "single-planed." It would seem to me that from that point (halfway back) and on it would be a little difficult to work the ball left to right. In your particular case, there are face-on things that I would almost guarantee are even more telling. Perhaps more and better advice will come along behind this one... there are some really good instructors on WRX who may be able to just nail it for you based on the video posted.

From the video, the path looked out to in? If you have a strong grip, this could attribute to the face been closed to the path, meaning you would be hitting a pull hook, relative to your aim, not down the ball to target line. My bad shot is a pull hook. Pop an alignment rod down the target line, and from there try to hit a block (path in-to-out) if you have a strong grip and the club face closed, this movement should produce a "draw" ball flight for you, with the ball starting right of target, and curving to left, finishing on target. Might also get you shallowing off the rough impact and get you hitting the the ball a little higher. You will be hitting it low if you have the out to in swing path and a closed club face because you will be drastically lowering the dynamic loft at impact
