Bunker's Dozen: March 2007

The West Coast Swing ended in February, and The Florida Swing began shortly thereafter. Now it's the beginning of April, and The Masters is here. The 2007 season is well underway, and it has been very exciting to say the least. On top of that, the LPGA Tour's first major championship is in the books, and the Nationwide Tour is in full swing.

 

 

Tiger Woods had an up-and-down month of February. Woods completely lost focus at Bay Hill in the final round, shooting a lofty 76 on Sunday at Arnie's place. In true Tiger fashion, however, he bounced back by winning at Doral, and he also won the individual scoring title at The Tavistock Cup.

 

 

How did all this affect the world's best in this month's Bunker's Dozen? Also, did Vijay move up any after winning his second PGA Tour event of the season? Finally, where will LPGA young gun Morgan Pressel find herself after becoming the LPGA Tour's youngest ever major winner? These three and others can be found in the March edition of Bunker's Dozen. Tiger Woods won the WGC-CA Championship for the third consecutive season and now has his sights set on winning his fifth green jacket and third straight major.

Vijay Singh became the first PGA Tour golfer to win two events in 2007 when he broke through at Bay Hill. Singh sits atop The FedEx Cup and money list standings.

Adam Scott outlasted fellow Aussie Stuart Appleby to win the Shell Houston Open in wild fashion. Hopefully the leaders will be aware of the water on 18 next year.

Augusta National is always in the news once March rolls around. There weren't many changes this year (hallelujah), but people still love to talk about it!

Charles Howell III had a T6 (PODS Championship) and T16 (WGC-CA Championship) last month to remain second in The FedEx Cup standings.

Robert Allenby has a zero in the win column in 2007, but it's time to start respecting his consistency (six top-10 finishes in eight starts).

Mark Calcavecchia seems to play really awesome or really awful. Luckily for Calc, he played really awesome at The PODS Championship and came home with the win in the process.

The Tavistock Cup hasn't caught on to the mainstream yet, but it's a great chance to see many of the world's best golfers at the beginning of a week.

Lorena Ochoa didn't waste much time in finding the winner's circle this year. Ochoa won The Safeway International, but she still hasn't won the big one!
