Please Critique.

Recommended Posts

Got back into golfing 2 years ago. Feeling pretty comfortable with my swing. But please critique with suggestions. It looks like my follow through is very flat. Think that may be why I play a small cut? I can hit a draw but, I'm more consistent this way.

Colu,

Thanks for sharing that. I happen to be a swing video enthusiast and a golfer of 46 years. But that doesn't necessarily qualify me as a teaching expert... it simply qualifies me as someone who has watched way more than his share of swings and learned a great many things the hard way.

I really have very little by way of deep suggestions for you. I do normally see the swing filmed from right down the toe line from about that same distance. I believe the angle you have your camera is why you feel there is a little flatness to your follow-though. Actually I believe your follow-through plane is fine. If the ball flight is a baby fade I believe I would enjoy playing it. It simply means your clubface is a degree or two open to the path it is traveling along through impact.

I do notice how your hands are a bit elevated through impact - which with irons can cause the toe of the club to dig the ground first causing pushes or slightly weaker shots to the right. Not sure if that happens to you or not but if so it may be worth exploring your setup and motion to assure you don't lose your address spine angle going back and through.

If you ever have another chance to film again from a slightly better angle and or include a face on swing.... maybe we could cover a little more. The swing is very three dimensional and there is almost always things better leaned and seen face on -- while some things are better discovered down-the-line.

Best of luck!

Wow. Thanks a lot. I do have a little problem with weak push fades with my long irons 4-7. I'll have to work on that.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
