Anyone using Game Golf? Like it?

I already have a laser range finder.

 

I use Golf Shot app to log my scores and submit rounds for my handicap. It also keeps a bunch of stats, so long as you enter them per hole.

 

But it's too annoying to track actual club distances with. It seems like Game Golf might be less of a hassle to do that with.

 

Maybe?

 

It always seems like my distances are either longer or shorter on the course over the range and I suspect it would improve my scores in the long run if I had real stats on my course distances.

 

Curious if you are using it, does it work well? It is a hassle? Is it a distraction? The app is because I don't want to spend my whole round on my iPhone.

love it. I'm not a gadget guy, and picked it up on a whim. It took 9 holes to get used to tagging shots, now it's seamless. The stats are insightful, and being able to look a past rounds is fun. I don't have a Facebook account, so I don't use the social features. But, if I'm going to play a new course, I find someone who's close to my handicap, and look at their round. It's a good way to build a game plan. I also have to add Gamegolf's customer service is incredible. My device broke, they immediately replaced it, no questions asked.

Thank you! I wonder if it can run in tandem when another golf app is running, Like Golf Shot.

I don't use the app, only the belt clip unit, and leave my phone in my bag. I use a laser for yardages.

Does that mean you are using it only to track your club distances? That's all I really want it to do. I like Golf Shot app for scoring and the scorecard and for posting my round to my handicap. I just figured Game Golf may be potentially easier than having to take my phone with me to each shot and wake it back up and then click it ect. It seems like just beeping your next club on your belt would be faster and less messing around with the phone.

Tracks distance, fairways, greens, scrambling, sand saves, putts etc... I use a traditional scorecard to keep score. I do not touch my phone on the course.
