Game golf live question

I have been using Game Golf for quite some time now and absolutely love it. I use the free app through my iphone. I have found the gps to be sub-par in measuring distance of my shots. When I compare it side by side with a buddy who also uses Game Golf for android, we have found the tracking distances to be off by as much as 25 yards. The distance to the front/middle/back of the green is also within 2 to 5 yards as well. I am well aware that cell service is a big factor in the accuracy of the GPS, so that is why I'm curious to know how much better the GPS in the Game Golf Live is. The club tracking discrepancy and the gps being dependent on cell service has me looking at getting the Game Golf live setup.

 

Since I have an iphone I can't pair the tags to my phone, and getting the tags doesn't correct the gps discrepancy. I also don't want the classic, because I don't want to wait to get home to load my game results. Plus if I add a penalty the classic doesn't allow me to do that until afterwards. So the Game Golf Live seems to be my only option. So my question is if the Game Golf Live is worth it? Is the GPS on it better? Does it act as a GPS booster for your phone?
