Will she "earn" her way on?

Wow, shooting a 65 on Sunday to miss the win by a single shot! I do believe the woman has become hungry. Can she earn her way on to the LPGA HOF? Needs two wins or a major to qualify. Earlier she had said that she wasn't interested in "Veterans'" vote. Undoubtedly, the lady is HOF caliber ... given all of her world-wide wins. However, with all the younger players working out like mad, lining up for lessons with the next available guru whether that's a swing coach or a mind bender, and spending hours in practice, this isn't exactly Laura's approach to the game. For her, it has always been a game and whole lot of fun. Ergo, her seemingly reckless abandon and go-for-broke attitude off the tee. Well, anywhere on the course. She is a joy to watch and reportedly a delightful person to hangout with. Fingers crossed that she plays her way into this most prestigious of fellowships.

No doubt that she deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. She's a fantastic player (and I seem to recall something about a good book by her.)

I've always been a little skeptical of the LPGA's point system for the Hall of Fame. Particularly the ability to qualify as an active player. Not the system I would have chosen.

The point system was meant to be difficult -- only the "best" as in extraordinary players will qualify. It sure beats the virtual "popularity contest" (what a joke) that is used by the PGA. Thank heavens the LPGA maintains the separateness of the LPGA Hall of Fame vs. the World Golf Hall of Fame that seemingly anyone over the age of 40 that has at least one major can get voted into. Yuk! Not impressed at all.
