Lowering launch angle/peak height

My launch is usually around 23* with a 7 iron. I don't trust my spin numbers off mats as I usually rip the ball back on greens (partly due to descent angle, yes) but numbers are generally as follows for 7:

SS 93mph

Ball speed 124mph

Launch angle 23*

Spin 6000rpm

Carry 180y

Peak Height 40-42 yards

Descent 49-52*

I feel like I'm leaving distance on the table, specifically with driver. The other thing is a stock full swing will get very affected by wind. My knockdowns are around 30 yard peak height which is what many guy's stock shots are. When I try lower lofted clubs, I end up just losing spin/gaining distance and still hitting the ball pretty high because most of these clubs are meant to help the ball up in the air.

I obviously need to have increase my negative AoA with irons. Does anybody have a similar swing that can help with some drills maybe? My coach seems to think this is fine but I don't really love being that shallow. I take a small divot with irons and wedges. Can post swing if needed.

No expert and obviously I’m not much for posting here, but I’ve battled with a very similar issue by the sounds of it. I began with very similar numbers as far as speed etc. although starting with a 30* 7 iron (launch between 22-25*). Since then with lessons every Saturday for the past 5 months, my launch has been reduced to 17-18* On average with a 34* 7 iron. Ball & club speed have increased significantly as well.

The biggest issue initially for me was flipping, which has improved through several compounding corrections. Each correction got me closer to where I needed to be in the long run, but caused several other smaller issues along the way.

Long story short, improvements to almost every aspect of my swing caused me to be very far in-to-out, like 8-10*. Being this far in-to-out was what was keeping me from lowering launch by being a bit to neutral (?) AoA. Only after reaching the point where i could deliver the club at ~2-4* in-to-out was I able to decrease AoA to about ~-6*. The first swing I accomplished this, my launch was right in the window required by my coach of 16-18* and my carry and spin numbers tightened up dramatically. Darn near playable.

Sounding like you may be in a similar place, the drills I’ve been working lately include any and everything related to neutralizing club path. Also, the Planemate has been a HUGE help.

I know this is just what I went through and I may even being explaining it incorrectly, but I figured I’d share. I can elaborate further if required depending on where you think to are in relation to me and some of the other steps I’ve had to take.

What’s your path look like?
