Mizuno question

mx-23 replacement

I was at my local golf shop and I was hitting the mp 60 irons and man do they feel Sweet...
I was told that the lofts are weaker than the lofts on my mx-23's is that true? Also my local store says that he heard a that the mx - 23 should be replaced next fall... Does anyone have any idea about this also?

Yes, but it's really a case of the MX-23's lofts being a little "jacked up", like a lot of game improvement clubs. The MP 60's are more traditional (by modern standards).. The MX-23 PW is 1 deg stronger than the MP60 PW at 46*, but the MX-23's 6 thru 9 irons are 2* stronger, and the MX-23's long irons are 1* stronger.

 

FWIW, the MP60's are by no means weak lofted. they're actually 1* stronger than my Bridgestone J33 Combos.

 

I've also heard that the MX-23 are due for replacement, but not untill next summer (they're still selling well). Given Mizuno's success with the MX-23, I'd expect their replacement to be an evolutionary change rather than a radical re-design - ie I disagree with the theory that the MX-900 were meant as a replacement for the MX-23's.

No wonder i hit my mx 23 longer than my other clubs. But soon it will be replaced with mp 60s or 32's!!! Can't wait!!!

IMHO, the 32's are the best clubs out there right now. Granted, I haven't hit the 60's but I can't imagine that any club can beat the look, feel and performance of the 32's. Mizuno sure hit a homerun with those.

I didnt notice a huge difference from the MP32s to MP60s so I went back to the MP32s. I like the look a bit better and they are easier to find with different shafts

I tend to agree with the above two post. The MP 32's are a great iron. They look good, they are very forgiving for a blade (about as good as a players cavity back) and long. I am getting ready to buy a second set for my backup bag and will probably try a different shaft like the Tour Concept. I love my MP 32's.
