Iron impact a bit high on the face, but dead center

I've been hitting the ball consistently in the center of the clubface but a little impact tape (and knowing that hollow sound) shows that Im striking the ball a bit high on the face of my irons.

I know what various symptoms are of different swing flaws I have. I know when my ball is jumping around on the face a bit, that I am likely sliding, etc...

I've never really had this problem so I'm a bit confused- but I have tried:

- Keeping my head still through impact so I don't pass the ball

- Flattening my swing out 2-3 inches so not to hit with a steep descent.

I think I might too be hand-pressed at impact which puts that topline closer to the ball at impact. It might be that i'm holding off my release. I'm not typically a death griper of the club...I'm fairly loosey goosey but this has been a long winter and who knows what has crept in :partytime2:

Thanks!!!

Hover the club at the balls equator during address and keep it there when you take it back. I do this when I feel I have hit a few a bit fat and it helps to keep me from getting to low.

I also notice when I get my hands pressing to far forward i tend to also get a little thick with the contact and I remind myself to line the butt of the club up with my belt buckle (just to the left of) so I can try and keep my arms, shoulders, and club square and unified on the way back.

Best of Luck.

If you're loosy goosy than that might mean your very wristy with your swing. You might be adding loft at impact which means the club face is swooping under neath the ball and causing you to hit high on the face. If you trap the ball with the hands ahead at impact...there is no way that you can hit the ball high on the face.

If you are hitting it high on the face and taking a divot well after the ball, congratulations, you are a good ballstriker. The higher up on the face you are hitting it, the more solid you are striking it. You should be knocking down flagsticks if it's dead center high on the face.

There is a very simple fix for hitting your irons too high in the face. Get a set that is not as tall.

Measure how tall your irons are, and where on the face you hit them... Then get a set of irons that allows that spot to be the sweet spot.

I promise it works.

it's not that, I am 6'3".

Your problem is more common in taller players. I promise if you do what I said it will fix your problem. I have worked with people on this issue before.

If you eliminate the top part of the clubface, you can't strike the ball there. Make the switch and you will see.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
