Armlock vs Counterbalance putting

I'm looking into getting a new putter. I most likely am going the used route but wanted to know what the difference was between the two styles. Counterbalance is what I'm assuming adam scott does and armlock is what I'm assuming Rickie Fowler now does. I could be wrong. IF anyone can explain to me like i'm five I would appreciate it. Also if there are any recommendations for models or if you can show me models of each I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Rickie Fowler uses a counterbalance putter.  It uses a traditional stroke.  Putter is slightly to several inches over standard with extra weight in the butt end of the putter.  Supposed to help produce a more pendulum stroke.  

 

Armlock is a longer putter that rests against either your right or left arm depending.  Will Zalatoris and Web Simpson use Armlock on their left arm.  Matt Kuchar does right.  Keep in mind Armlock putters are specific.  They have unique lofts and lies.  Don't try to convert a traditional putter.

To add to the above, Adam Scott putting is considered broomstick. Bernhard and Si Woo Kim also putt using a broomstick putter.

 

Ive messed around with all of these and for me the Sik Armlock is my favorite as the Lie angle is around 78 degrees and makes it more comfortable. Odyssey and Betti are closer to the standard 72.
