Srixon ZX5 mk IIs and Handicap?

I’m a long time Mizuno MP4 blade player. I shoot in the 70s with an occasional 69-68 when I’m hitting greens and making putts. There are times I’m missing greens and can shoot high 70s to low 80s. I want to improve my GIR. 

 

I was dead set on ZX7 mkIIs before a fitting but actually ordered a set of ZX5s. I liked the effortless high and long ball flight that stayed online with ease. I asked the fitter if he sees better players opting for the ZX5s. He said yes all the time. 
 

Any low handicap players taking the ZX5 Mk IIs or a comparable players-distance iron?

As recently as 3-4 years ago I would fairly often see Titleist CB's or the really small-headed, traditional Mizuno irons in the bags of the the scratch-or-better handicap guys at my club. Same for college golfers or the high school kids aiming to play college golf. It wasn't the majority but a solid number of them.

 

Virtually non-existent nowadays. Can't remember the last time I saw a bag with that type of club in it. Just about all those better players use the higher launching, longer hitting, high COR irons now. It really seems the tide turned on that within the last several years.
