Good teacher in the Atlanta area?

My swing coach recently had to move back to the Chicago area and I am in need of a good replacement. I am more of a one plane swinger and would like a teacher who is familar with these movements. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not sure if he is a one-plane teacher or not, but I have been to Jon Tatersall a few times and been very happy. He's a top 100 guy, I think he has a facility in the new Terminus building in Buckhead now too.

Ted Fort in Marietta would be my recommendation. He teaches based on The Golfing Machine, but you wouldn't know it from the instruction you get. Ted keeps it simple, does not try to make you swing one way, and uses great visuals/illustrations until you "get" the concepts. I've been with him for @3 years now - He is the only instructor I have stuck with in the past 14 years.

I would recommend Scott Hamilton. He is at Cartersville Country Club. I have worked off and on with him for 2.5 years. He works with Jason Bohn on the PGA Tour and Vicki Goetze-Ackerman on the LPGA tour, plus numerous college players and mini-tour players.

Ryan Smither is in North Atlanta (Woodmont) and I would recommend him. Also Danny Elkins at The Georgia Golf Center is really good too.

Mike Purpich is out at River Pines G.C. which has an excellent driving range. Mike's a sensational teacher. Give him a check as the golf course/range is open to the public.

Yes he is. He associated with the guys at Accellerized golf in ATL. They developed there own software program and training method called "Hot Lines". It's pretty cool. I know that Charles Howell has one installed at his house.

Third recommendation for Ted Fort, especially if you're a candidate for the "one-plane" swing.

 

Funny guy, has a nice "hitters" pattern himself, and you'll get to meet his mentor Lynn Blake [one of Lynn's students, Brian Gay, just notched his first PGA Tour win.]
