My lie angles are too upright?

Over the last few weeks I have noticed that whenever I am hitting an iron shot with the ball below my feet I am getting a much better strike, club seems to cut through the turf far cleaner!

I am thinking that this is because my lie angles could be too upright for me?

With the ball below your feet you have to bend your knees more. None of us can tell you how much you bend your knees in this situation.

but just to mention: IF your irons are to much upright (I have this problem often) you have better / cleaner results on shots with the feet’s below the ball. If your feet’s are below your ball you tend to bend your spine less and grip down slightly. Your club will hit the ground with the toe first if the club is standard or flat lie.

Check out your clubs using the line on ball method ,also known as the sharpie test .

Draw a line on a range ball, position the ball with the line vertical and hit. It will transfer the line to the club face, if not vertical you may need an adjustment. Use a dry erase marker, it’s easier to remove than a sharpie , but both work.
