FT-i Tour LCG

possible shafts...Matrix, Aldila

I had a regular FT-i Tour w/ 686 stiff flex. I sold it because I thought the shaft played pretty soft. I didn't want to mess with reshafting an FT-i and I figured I'd get one of the new FT-i LCG heads. My swing speed is in the low to mid 100s consistently but I am able to crank it to 110-115. I'd say 106-107 is a normal swing.

Here's what I'm looking for... high 60 to low 80 gram shaft w/ mid-high launch (comparable to the 686), much lower spin than the 686, and about 1/2 flex stiffer (than the 686 stiff at 45.5" in FT-i). I've been looking into the Aldila DVS, Matrix Xcon6, 7, and Altus (LT?) The question is, what flex/tipping of these shafts to get based on what I've said?

Bump on this, i'm looking as well and considering the Alida DVS and the Whiteboard as options.

my swing speed is a little higher than yours but i think the GD Pershing would be a great option for you. I have one in my ft-5 and absolutely love it..low spin and low $$$ :good:

Get an LM data!!!

 

Without that, you are looking for trouble IMO with this LCG head.

 

Fitting an LCG head are trickier that normal head CG. To low of the spinrate and not enough LA, the ball will fall out of the sky like a hot potato. :good:

 

If you get it right, You'll be amaze how much carry and roll you can get out of this head.

joey, as much as id love to get fully fitted and support this site, i dont have the dough. i work at a course so id be able to get it for cost. im positive i will have enough spin with it. the ft-i 686 combo spun way too much. any less spin than that and id still be happy. i launch a 9.5* sumo2 w/ GD PI-75X (which is too much shaft for me) head around 13* degrees so im not worried about not being able to launch it high enough. i launched a sumo 5900 w/ matrix xcon6 around 15-16*, 3000 spin, 145-150 ballspeed. Swing speed is between 105-110. Also, I don't have enough consistency in my driver swing to get accurate results that will carry over from one day to the next. I struggle with the driver. If I find a shaft that I like the feel and gives me consistently decent results, that's the one I'll go with. I feel the FT-i head will help me with ballspeed for the times that I can't find the center of the face. Also, I feel that the FT-i head gives better ballspeed numbers than Nike's drivers. I've been more accurate with Nikes (Sumo2 vs. FT-3), but I've given up at least 5mph ballspeed.

I'm not/never saying/said every one on earth have to get fitted and/or come to me for that. I'm just saying if any body need one, I'm here to help.

 

Just like Callaway intention on the LCG (tour authentics in General )is not for every body and not every body need it, my service is pretty much the same intention. :clapping:
