In this swing, the arms go left rapidly after impact, a la Brady Riggs instruction (see Anthony Kim).

All shots start straight the spin hard to the left about mid flight. I can only imagine it's due to a closed club face at impact, but I'm not certain. In looking at some Hogan footage, he seemed to release his hands vertically after impact, which is something I don't do. I typically try to feel my arms swinging the club around my body on the through swing/on-plane.

Any suggestions?

However I consider myself educated in this area. My thought is that you are closed at impact meaning the top of your left hand (if you are right handed is pointing left of the target at impact. Try holding the top of your left hand pointing at the target for a split secong after impact.

 

Hope this is of help...I know the helpless feeling of the pull hooks, no one should have to suffer from them.

naw, he release it WAAAAAAY left AROUND his body.........but Mr. Hogan had "control over the toe of the club"........meaning he had it in a position that it couldn't "catch up" no matter how hard he tried.......email me and we can visit a bit about your swing, etc. :lol:

Prolly you are not open with your body at impact and are trying to compensate swinging left with your arms, instead of completing the body turn. Hence, you are attacking the ball from the inside with a slightly closed clubface in relation to your path.

The more you turn, the more fade pattern you'll obtain - provided your release is not a crossover one.

dariuaz J - I don't understand what you are talking about. Which is not open enough, lower or upper body?

 

I'm going to focus on the grip for a while. I need to position my left thumb pad on top of the shaft more instead of to the right of it.
