Anybody playing the EPON 701 irons?

I have been looking at the EPON 701s, look good, minimal offset, strong lofts, quality product. I currently play Callaway X Tours with KB shafts and KZG Forged Evolution with KB shafts, 10 hcp. Anybody playing the Epons, who can share some feedback.

I have both the 501 and 301 but not the 701. If you are playing the KZ and X forged, the 701 would have more offset then all the aboved mentioned. Since the 701 has the undercut through out the set, it would be more forgiving then the other Epon irons. At the same time, it has a clicky sound with its undercut when hit. The 501 is really something in between, loft (i degree stronger than 301 and 1 deg weaker than 701) wise and forgiveness with it undercut on the longer irons and one piece on the short irons. If you are a stronger player or a low handicap player, you would probably enjoy the feel, feedback and control of the 301. Then again you are giving up forgiveness for softness and feel. I would rate the KZ Evolution closest to the 501.

hello to u i have the 701 before i had old wilson staff irons these irons are much stronger lofted heads about 4 degres stronger than my old but i will change the degress i dont wanna hit a nine iron 210-215 yards thats not funny. i wanna hit more like 175 yards

the irons are nice. and if u look at good golfers now these days the use more a forgiving head many tour profesionals use a very forgiving head . why make it difficult when the aim is to score as low you can. and by the way there aint many blade clubs left in the shops cleavland has one nike has one and not so many others

 

but you shouldnt be afraid to hit clubs who that they say that they think it is easey to hit

 

i shoot in the low 70 and thats a good club henrik stenson uses the srixon 701 not the tour model and why should u not take a easey club ??

I have the Epon 701's and they are the nicest irons I have ever played. I was using a 30* hybrid instead of my 5 iron and when I got this set the 4 iron even looked good to me. I took 2 hybrids out and now I play the 4 and the 5 irons with this set. I had the lofts bent a little weaker (to the Tour Burner Iron specs) to keep them in kind of the same yardage range as my ole Tour Burners. They still go further and they are sweet. They hit and stop with my Pro V1x's and I even shelved my Chikara sand wedge for the Sand wedge that matches the set. It is all Epon from the sand and gap weges right through to the 4 iron. Now I want the AF-101 Driver!
