NEED ADVISE ON MARUMAN DRIVERS/WOODS

Hello to you all,

 

I strugling with some small problems.

Want to buy a new driver and have seen some pic's of Maruman(Majesty Royal VQ ) drivers and I'am in love???

But here in Holland they aren't a lot for sale,so i have to look on ebay or us shop's.

Problem is therefore,can't try them first,so wanted to know if someone from here has this brand at home and could give an idea of difference's between Maruman and say,TM,Callaway,Cobra etc.

Unfortunately people who play Maurman Majesty line do not play domestic TM or Cobra. I did try my friend's Vanquish driver which is twice the price of Royal VQ at us$1,700. Dont know about the Majesty line but the Vanquish line is definitely built for the Asian market. I love the feel but cant see paying that much.

I've used the Maruman Majesty driver and various U.S. brand clubs. Firstly, the Majesty is a nicely made club. Aesthetics are great. Fit and finish are exceptional. These are all good things. Personally, I find them to whippy even with their stiff shafts. In truth the stiff designated shafts in the Majesty line are more like soft regulars. Their regular flex is more like a senior flex. CPM on their stiff flex was 228 on the one I tried and 216 on the regulars. By the way, I am a regular user of the brand. Just not this model line. This model line is more geared for the elderly affluent and I don't say that in a disparaging or disrespectful manner. It is just the truth of their marketing strategy. The technology and material used on the heads are superb and all you need to do is put in a proper shaft and you will have a really great looking and performing driver. Unfortunately, for their price, you'd think that you'd already have a great driver to begin with. Don't get me wrong, the Majesty is a great club for the right type of player. If you swing smoothly at about 85-90 mph max, these will work for you. Overall weight is light and they swingweight at about C-9 to D-0 at most They use shafts as light as 47 grams upto about 54 grams if I am not mistaken.

 

Currently, I use a Maruman Exim EI model and these would feel more similar to the U.S. branded clubs. They are still a little softer in flex. Where I would use a stiff flex on a Taylormade for example, I am using an X-flex in this particular Maruman model. I hope this helps somewhat. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions. I really like their products and their irons (2007 Conductors) are spectacular. I don't care much for their 2008 line though. If you may have not noticed, it's a brand I follow closely as it comprises most of my set.
