Mapping a practice range

I have seen several posts about mapping practices ranges.

Would anyone care to share with us how you are setting these up?

Like, do you map a small green around the 100, 150, and 200 flags and set it up as a 3 hole course?

Or, are you mapping one green, say at the end of the range, and then setting the flags and other identifiable points as targets?

Or, something different from what I have mentioned.

I have done it both ways. If you do the single hole thing, you definitely need to map the green at the far end of the range as the units typically only display yardages between you and the green, not beyond it. This is the fatsest way to map a range.

 

The advantage of mapping each area around a flag as a green and a separate hole is that if you can see the outline of the green from where you are hitting you have a more accurate idea of how far you are hitting your clubs instead of estimating how much short or long relative to the flag you just hit it, if that makes sense.
