I finally made up my mind

my bag is set...thanks to everyone who gave me input.

Hey All:

First of all I made a post earlier this week asking for adviceto get either a new 3 wood, hybrid or both. I received a lot of great input from fellow wrx'ers and I kept that in mind today when I purchased the last of my bag. I sincerely say...thanks for the input.

Here's what I went with. I got both the hybrid and fairway wood. For the latter of the two, I went with the Wilson Staff FwC 15* fairway wood. The feel and distance was hands down better than the rest I tried (I was going to go with a V Steel). But the stats and ball speed said it all and it was a real "no-brainer".

For the hybrid, I went with the Nickent 3DX 3+ Ironwood 18.5*. This hybrid set up great and I loved the feel and the ballflight. The 3DX is deep. I was going to go with the Aldila NV seeing that it matched my driver but for me the combination didn't feel right. I opted to go with the steel TT ST-90 shaft. Again feel, ballflight and ball speed was the true indicator. I was set on he Wilson Staff Hb5 but the Nickent was superior, either off the tee or off the deck.

Again thanks for the input. My bag is set for a real long time. I am real proud of my bag, as it took a real long time and finding some great deals to assemble it.

Nice setup (looks a lot like mine) just make sure you drop the 3i or 60* when you play with your buddies so they don't bug you about having 15 in the bag ;)

That's a nice bag setup...almost all Wilson Staff.....have you seen the new WS Drivers? Pretty nice.....so are those WS Kirk Currie adjustable weight putters....

 

Oh what am I saying.....there's nothing "wrong" with Cobra...

Actually thanks for the reminder, I gotta change my siggy. I already took the 3 iron out of the bag and it's in my storage closet with my old set, back-up driver and bag.

Hey There Mr:

 

Actually I haven't seen the new Staff drivers up close. I've only seen them on the Wilson Staff web site. They look nice though, I'm almost willing to bet that they'll be at the Toronto Golf Show on March 10th. The KC putters putt reallll nice. I used one today but I love my Cobra Aussie Sydney too much. That being said, I'd be real hard pressed to remove my Cobra 460SZ out of my bag. You're absolutely right though, nothing wrong with Cobra. I love their offerings, and nearly filled my bag full of Cobra (3100I/H et al). It started with my Aussie and then the 460SZ. I had the 3100's nearly paid off.
