Helping people out in these times

I am only a sophomore in High School, but what I have seen on these forums is incredible. This is truly a wonderful community to belong to, and I am glad to even be on the same forum as those of you who are sending clubs to people who are in tough times, sending golf balls, and more. I just can not say enough.

 

I have also read this idea on a thread and forget which one but here it is (If you are doing fine w/ economically):

 

Instead of going golfing when your next usual round is, take the money the greens fees would of cost, and go to a local supermarket and buy canned food and take it to the local food bank. You would be surprised how much you can get for $25-$30. I work on a golf course so I don't pay for golf, but what I have decided to do is that: The next decent tip day I have ($30+), I am going to take it to a supermarket and buy canned food to take to a local food bank. I am going to mention it to the other cart attendants also to see if they want to throw any money into it also.

 

I may want a new hat, or shirt, or pair of shorts but this seems more important. I am even probably going to do this once a week in the summer when I am working more then just Saturday and Sunday.

 

What are you doing in your local community? (This would be a good place to talk about what we are doing, not for bragging but to share ideas. If I hadn't read someone else skipping a round and getting food, I would of never thought of it.)

I like to see a young man with some deep conviction about him. What you are planning to do is admirable.

 

Mrs. Aces-5 and I donate to (2) charities. The first is St. Judes Children's Hospital and the second is to our local chapter of German Shepherd Rescue (we are huge GSD lovers). When choosing charities I think it has to be something that you are emotionally attached to.
