Nike slingshot hybrid

Hi Guys,

I am seriously torn between getting the 17* or the tour which is offered in the 15*. Basically I don't hit my sonartec the way I used to hit it ever since I changed my swing. The sonartec is 15* and I wonder if I will have problems hitting a 15* as compared to the 17*. I know that I should demo these clubs before I make a decision on which one, but I'd thought I asked you guys here first.

Thanks alot

-Bryan

I tried the 20* versions extenstively a month ago and came pretty close to buying one. Remember there are two versions, the tour and standard. I don't like the standard. It went straight up in the air and balooned quite badly if you've got any kind of swing speed and angle of attack. The Tour version had a much more compact head and a better flight (still high though). I though it was just as easy to hit as the standard version.

Which ever version you choose, it's going to be a big step away from the sonartec. The Sonartec is low and hard to hit, a little thin a little fat, or a little away from center can produce some bad shots. The Nikes are going to be MUCH more forgiving in that respect. Also, I like the fact that you're considering going with a higher loft. 15* hybrids are hard to hit, even if you're name is Retief Goosen. Most guys on tour have dropped low lofted hybrids in favor of fairway woods since the hybrids go so low. However, if you've got a yardage gap to fill, you may just need the 15*. Either way, it will be a lot easier to hit than the MD.

Demo to find the loft that will fit you.

Any more questions feel free to drop me a PM.

I have played the Slingshot Tour Hybrid in the 18* for about 2 months and I absolutely love it. It is a perfect club for me from 220 to 250 yards. I can hit just about any shot with it. Today I hit two fo the better shots I have hit in a while with it. two completely different shots. One was a high soft cut to a tuff pin placement from 210 yards and stuck it to 10 feet and it stopped 3 feet from where it landed. The other was a low draw 2nd shot on a 575 yard par 5. I was 250 yards out and it ran all the way down to the front of the green. Its a great club and I love the look of it. I don't think you can go wrong with one. Thats my 2 cents.

I've had my 21 degree SS Tour for about 2 months as well. I've found that I don't use it quiet as much as I thought I would, but the few times I do in a round is money. With this club I've been on several par 5's in two and in better position for eagle chances. My miss with it tends to be a pull when I use a low tee off the box. I'm still tinkering with ball position with it to find the best and most consistent results.

Overall, it's a very versatile club with a solid feel.
