Looking for a black wedge...Nike SV Tour Black Satin, Nike VR forged Black, or Cleveland CG12 Black

I'm looking for a black wedge, but torn about which to get. I want a black club to stay black or at least, not look like it's 2 years old after playing a round of 18 holes it.

 

Nike SV Tour Black Satin - I like the black Satin look, plus they're cheaper than the other 2 options. Only issue is I understand it's hard to hit, but if they're easier to hit than my Nike Forged wedges, then it's no problem for me, since I never had any problems with my Nike Forged.

 

Nike VR forged Black - The black looks too shiny and I'm thinking the wear on them would look worse than the CG12 Black Pearls, since it appears shiny and the worn areas would look really dull. I understand this will tear up the ball.

 

Cleveland CG12/14 Black Pearl - I'm leaning towards the 12 more, but I've seen a few used clubs and they look like they're a few years old. I really don't like the look of the 14, with the little yellow shock absorbing thing.

 

 

My irons (MP-33) don't have dings, since they all have club covers on them. So their shouldn't be any club to club wear. The only clubs that don't have covers are my both of my Nike Forged wedges (53° & 58°), but they're far enough apart to even touch each other.

 

I'm a mid to high handicapper and play my wedges well. Well, at least better than most of my friends who are mid to low handicappers. I never had an issues with my Nike Forged wedges.

Look at the MacGregor MT DW Wedges in the Gunmetal finish, you can probably find 3 for about $100. They are as good as anything out there, I've been playing two of them all year and they look great.

I've switched from the Nike forged to the Nike SV wedges and I'd say that they are an improvement. Feel may be a little different as the SV's are cast and not forged but they are just awsome wedges! Def not harder to hit than the forged wedges (but not much easier either) The grind on the SV's is what makes them a great such a great wedges to me. Not sure about the black finish though as I play the satin version.....Also, SV's seem to be comparable to Spin-milled Vokeys in my opinion.

Thanks for the input. I also saw some posts regarding the Scratch clubs. They kind of appear black. I have to keep my eye out on a used one, but I highly doubt it.

You should also look at the Wilson TW-9 Wedges. Looks to have a durable black finish, and if they're good enough for Paddy...they're good enough for you...LOL

I know this may not be the popular thing but I bought and built a black snake eyes 685bx and after a few rounds seems to be holding up quite well. It is not a "painted" black but more of a black chrome but there is no glare and I think looks good. There have been a few posts about how well it plays if you want to take a look. If your not into building your own they do also sell them premade.
