Sorry I missed this post, because I've got quite a few.

My favorite, up and down. Throw down 10 balls all around the green in various positions. If you chip in, it's -1, 0 for up and down, +1 for bogey, etc. See what your best score is and try and beat it. This is a fun game because it's very much like being out on course. Go through your full pre-shot routine, read putts, etc.

Ladder drill. Lay down your 3, 4, 5, and 6 irons (horizontal to target) 3 feet apart and practice chipping balls to thes pace inbetween each club. If you go over or under, start over. See how many times you can go back and forth. You can use one club (like a sand wedge) or vary the clubs begin used. This also works well for distance control with putting.

To practice high, soft pitches, I lay down an old towel on the green and try to hit it and stop it on the towel.

If you've got a buddy to practice with, play call your shot where you say a shot type or stipulate a condition (must fly as high or higher than two flags for example).

Hope those help!

Chipping: Go To The Chipping/Pitching Green At Your Club With Most Slopes, Bunkers, Difficult lies Etc.

The One At My Club Has Rough All Around, 2 Pins, 2 Bunkers And Lots Of Slopes.

I Like to Get 3 balls and pick an area from where to hit them i.e. upslope rough to the right of green

then pick how far away from the flag you want to land them i.e. 5 feet and put a few tees around the pin this far (Here 5 feet) away from the pin. You Have To Get Them All Inside Those Tee Pegs Or You Keep Doing It Until You Do Get Them all inside the tee pegs.

If you do get them inside the tee pegs, you move the target distance down a foot every time until you get it down to 1 foot

Pick A Different Area Everytime You Try It And It Only Takes 10-20 Mins

Putting: If I Find Myself Bored Putting I Always Hit Putts From The Fringe Of The Practice Green Fro About 10-12 Feet. For Some reason i just like it more because theres more involved than grass and hole, theres the apron as well

OK Heres An Actual Drill: 1) Sink 5 three footers in a row

2) Then Sink 4 four footers in a row

3) Then Sink 3 five footers in a row

4) Then Sink 2 six footers in a row

5) Then Sink 1 ten footer

AND REMEMBER TO ENJOY YOURSELF PRACTICING YOUR SHORTGAME AND ALWAYS BE MORE INVENTIVE BECAUSE ITS THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF THE GAME TO PRACTICE! :cheesy: :) :cheesy: :cheesy:  :cheesy:

My method is pretty boring...but I enjoy just chipping high, low, with check spin, without, from tight lies, fluffy lies. But basically, I don't spend too much time on any one type more than three or four times in a row in order to attempt keep the imagination working.

Towards the end of a short game session, I too will play the 'up and down' scenario. Say there are four holes on a practice green...I'll chip towards each and then go make the putts. If I'm not happy I'll do it again a few times until I feel positive and then I'm done.

Making it fun always helps.

Have an up and down competition with a friend, put a small wager on the game. Try different shots from different lies, to different pins. It will really help your short game.

Also try focusing on where you want the ball to land so it will roll to your target when chipping and pitching, not just where you want the ball to end up.

This is a short game drill that I work on all the time. The following is the article where I got the drill from. I hope you guys like it. The "11 Ball Drill" is a wonderful evaluation tool for your short game, and can help you identify your weak spots. Take 11 balls to the short game practice area and use them to determine your strengths and weaknesses around the green. First, find one type of shot that you're good with; say, the pitch from a fluffy lie from five steps off the green. Hit all 11 balls from that situation. Once you've hit all 11 balls, remove the five shots that are closest to the hole. Six balls will remain. Finally, remove five shots that are farthest from the hole. One ball will remain. The remaining ball is your average (actually the mathematical median, but let's not digress - golf should be fun). Now go back and try the same pitch shot from a tight lie and see if your "average" is the same. Hit chip shots, pitch shots, lob shots, and bunker shots, all using the 11 Ball Drill to determine which shots are your strongest, and which are your weakest. In this way, you can identify the shots you need to work on, and thus determine where your time will be best spent in your short game practice.

After doing this drill I found out I need to work on my bunker play. That seems to be the worst part of my short game around the greens. Funny thing is that before I started doing this drill I thought it was pretty good. Guess this drill proved me wrong though.

I like the one handed pitching drill from about 30-50 yards out, IMO it is the best possible tempo drill one can do for pitching. I mainly use my dominant hand for most of the drill because I can get consistent contact with it, but I also switch to the left for a few shots. After hitting half a bucket I switch back to hitting with both hands and my swing feels sooooo good.
