Having traveled my entire career, playing courses all over the US we are so fortunate to have SHCC in Tulsa, OK. It is truely one of the best traditional courses in the country. Sure there are longer and newer courses that pull people in but to have a course of this caliber in pristine condition at all times that you can play day in and day out and never tire of is not something I could say about many courses I have played. Left and right dog legs, challenging par three's fairways and greens that are unriveled. Might be the reason our new superintendant came to us from Augusta. Granted, I have been to Augusta but what course would not be perfect that is seldom walked upon. So, if you ever get the chance don't pass it up!!!

I would love to play Southern Hills but I don't know any members and membership is way out of my price range. I love how it is in the middle of Tulsa. I will have to be content with Forest Ridge and Emerald Falls for awhile.

I've met a few members and they always talk about how nice the course is. I was playing Sunday and got paired up with a gentleman that works there part time, he said it was a really nice course. I've yet to find someone that can get me on though.

I really like Emerald Falls though. Forest Ridge is nice, but has gone down a little the past couple of years.

Have you played White Hawk in Bixby? They have some reasonable rates if you sign up for e-mail alerts. I also would like to play Battle Creek soon. I have a buddy from law school that is working on getting us on at Oak Tree.
