Project X Shafts........

How does one determine what number?!
This may (or may not) have been asked before, but how does one determine what freq. number to get in a set of Project X shafts? :golfer:

I currently play S400's in my irons.
What number is the equivilent to those? The 5.5... the 6.0... the 6.5... or something in between like a 6.3 or a 6.7? (I have seen, and hit, 6.7 tour flighted Rifles.)

The Project X seems to be a good, consistant shaft and many TOUR players have switched to it from thier Dynamic Golds. If anyone knows WHY this is, let me know. I'm curious.

I just finished assembling my xtour PX shaft combo and I'm really starting to like it. I've had half a doz range sessions and 9 holes with them.

My initial reaction to them on the range was, oh no this won't work. But I always give it at least a couple weeks and I'm glad I did. The high launch of the shafts will kinda freak you out at first but when you play them you'll know why the tour guys like them. The ball goes UP, levels out then drops like it's got a parachute on. On average I lost maybe a few yards but soft approach is well worth it IMO.

As with any shaft get fit. I'm learning this one the expensive way with my driver. lol

I ordered them in my MP60s...at first I thought what a waste of money over the standard rifles, but I've become more accustomed to them now, and find that they do provide a great high trajectory and, for me anyway, something about the combo just makes the ball jump. I must be 3/4 of a club longer than last season, and the lofts got weaker. Must've been all the weight I pressed. Not sure, but really nice shafts.

tickyboy -- which X's did you get -- 5.5s, 6.0s. 6.5s. etc.? Also, what is your typical 5 or 6 iron carry distance? I'm curious because I have MP60s on the way and hope I got the right set for me.....had to do it based on my buddy's (who owns a golf shop) thoughts and the customer service at Royal Precision thought would be appropriate.

How do you like the feel in these clubs? I should get mine in a few days....I can't wait.

Do the PX's come in anything other than the 6.0 or 6.5 flex numbers?

Or can one get something like a 6.2 or a 6.3?

With Project X, you'll be lucky to buy 6.0 and not get 6.5 in half the set. LOL They are weight sorted, not freq sorted so the butt freq's will be inconsistent. I've seen the actual playing flex vary too....it's a weird little love it or hate it shaft.
