Swing weight of wedges vs. irons

So I have been experimenting with my swingweights recently and have found that I like my irons D6 and Driver + 3 wood D7.5 I know wedges are typically 2-3 sw's higher than irons, but was wondering if yours increases incremently by 1 (i.e. PW D7, GW D8, SW D9 LW E0), or do you tend to have your wedges the same SW for a more consistent feel.....I would think the former situation would be true that the wedges tend to increase...also, if anyone has a hybrid, how does the sw of it compare to say the iron it replaced or other woods in your bag...thanks

I play my wedges at D4 so I can grip down on them and still have some sense of where the head is on partial shots.

 

I play my irons at D0 because that's where I like them. A lighter swing weight helps me keep my hands out of the swing and swing more with my body. With heavier swing weights, I tend to get flippy with my arms and hands.

 

My woods are at D2 again, because that's where I like them.

 

I don's see any reason why you'd want your shorter clubs getting progressively heavier, other than if you really like the feel.

Usually when someone plays their driver at a swingweight as high as yours, they are trying to get some of the feel back they lost with a stiff shaft. You may be able to go with a softer shaft and get the same feel. This can mean a bit more distance.

i had a driver that is D1 (quarter inch short) two that are D3.. fw. are D3 irons are d3

 

wedges are d4 and d5's..

I am def. a hitter, not a swinger. I am pretty happy with the distance I am getting from my driver, as well as the accuracy. The heavier sw helps me to swing more smooth and keep on plane more often. I have been a lot more accurate with the driver and still hitting it pretty far actually. I was playing it at E-0.5, but lowered it now...As an example, I know Ernie used to have his driver at E1 few yrs. back and now has it around D-8...he also likes that heavy feeling...I had the Diamana 83, but am a lot more consistent with the stiffer shaft i am using now...accuracy is more important than distance, so if i lose a couple yds. it is ok...like I said, I am still hitting it pretty far...but am still experimenting with my wedges...i will keep them at the same sw most likely...probably a couple sw's higher than my irons. I like the heavy feeling in all my clubs, something that has def. helped me be more accurate and be in more control.
