Jones Golf Bags

I was cleaning out the garage and found my old Jones stand bag. I must have used that bag for 10 years. They were such a great bag, certainly ahead of their time. I see they are still in business but I haven't seen any of the bags on their site in person. Years ago they only sold to green grass facilities.

 

Anyone seen or use one of their stand bags?

I emailed them. They are no longer making bags. I don't know why the site is still up.

I had several Jones bags (non-stand) when playing junior golf. My 1st year in college we had Jones stand bags. Thank God we switched to Ping after that 1st year.

God... I have not heard that name in years. I used to use them exclusively in my shop in the mid 80's. They made the best single strap carry bag in the business back then.

I had one back when I was starting the game back in the mid 90s. I like the bag and the looks of them. I liked the smaller size of the bag and wish they still made bags. I was just searching for a non-stand bag to use on a cart but no luck.

Jones bags were fantastic. MacKenzie Walkers are closest thing I can find these days. Albiet much more expensive. The MacKenzie is a bag you'll carry for 30+ years...if you are playing that long.

Interestingly enough, given the Mackenzie reference, I'd bet that the strap on the bag shown on the Bobby Jones page was made by Todd's elves at Mackenzie.

Jones made great minimalist bags. I still use mine occasionally. I'm trying to swipe my brother's red/white b/c it's in better shape than my tan/brown one.

Saw this post about Jones Bags. Just read where McKennon Golf Bags bought Jones Bags and is going to revive the bag and brand. Didn't mention price point but will be that same old pure carry bag!!!!

Great news. Thanks for the heads-up. I still have a Jones Golf 'Wolf' stand bag...faded but still the best quality stand bag I've owned. I liked that they would customize the Wolf using only two dividers in the 9 1/2 inch top...making it like tour bag set up with full length dividers.

I will definitely email McKennon Golf.

Just saw a picture of the prototype of the new Jones Bag. SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One strap, no stand and it was two colors...like the old one...but I think the 2nd color was leather........a few pictures floating around but I am not gonna be the one posting.......just wrote McKennon and asked him more about it...will let you know when I hear back
