Boston golf Expo

Worth going?

I am curious to hear wether the boston golf expo is worth going to? It is this weekend and am looking for some deals. Is it just a big golf store that has the in store prices?

I go every year. I think there's something there for just about everyone not just a "store". You get a year subscription to Golf Digest, or Magazine, I forget... I subscribe to both (of course, you can just extend yours if you have one already). Yes, there are lots of golf shops set up, you can buy older models for real cheap, but they also will have most of new stuff as well. Most of the major companies, excluding Titleist, are there, set up with launch monitors and you can get quasi-fit. Lots of room to hit just about anything. What I like the most is the booths set up by various golf clubs/courses, golf travel companies, etc. Most have "deals", ie free cart rentals, afternoon rates anytime, % off green fees, etc. I've also set up buddy trips with the Cape, Myrtle Beach etc. Anyhow, I recommend checking it out if only for soothing the golf bug we've developed during the winter.

I like to go to the expo , but try to go on Friday . There is lots to see , at least the past few years . With the economy who Knows about down sizing . Of course there are deals from some golf retailers , but with the tolls and parking and admission , I would haggle . I noticed on the website that edwin watts would not be attending , then realized they have closed all their stores in MA. Any way nice to be in a golf atmosphere after a cruddy winter . So I say go !!!

Just a heads up. I have some friends that work at edwin watts in MA they are still open they just dropped the watts franchise name they are now called Golfology and I believe they will be at the golf show.
