Quick question about Golf Logix GPS

this is a question about golf logix GPS. The stand alone unit not an app for a smart phone. Specifically the gps-8.

 

my question is that if you are playing on a par 5 and after your tee shot you still have a long ways to the green like say 300 yards. does the gps just tell you what the distance is to the green or will it give you distances to say some bunkers between you and the green. does it automatically do this or is there actually a button you can push to show this info. i know the big selling point of the unit is that you dont have any buttons to control so this is why im asking.

From what I can remember it will automatically give you the reading to the next hazard or to the 150 OR 100 yard marker, but no button to push to show this. I have not tried pushing a button to go ahead to see if it would show the next distance after a hazard. Someone clarify this if I'm not correct.

I have the gps-8, spinshot is correct it will show the distance to the 150/100 yd. marker, to see the remaining distance to the hole just hit the top button on the left side and it will show the remaining distance to the hole.

hmmmm.... just reread your question, specifically about not having to use the button. I'm playing tomorrow so I'll double check on what I had posted earlier. I've gotten so used to just turning on the unit and going that I haven't really noticed.

I wanted to clarify what I had posted neonsohc, the unit will scroll automatic while walking giving you the distance upcoming like the 150 etc, on the par5 or any hole for that matter if I want the remaining distance I can hit the top left button it will show whatever is left to the hole then after a few seconds it will revert back the yardage that was shown previously.

cool. thats what i wanted to hear. thank you. im not against having to push a button its just in all of their ads they always say you never have to push a button for anything so i was concerned it wouldnt have anything but distances to the green. thanks a lot for your info. i now plan on buying a golf logix on amazon now. cant beat the price.
