Rilfe shaft flex 8.0

Today I played a friend from my highschool team. He graduated a while ago. He had rilfe shafts with an 8.0 flex. Ya they were like iron rods. Probly the stiffest i have seen in irons. I was wondering if anybody else herd of stiffer ones. He said that they were the same ones Hank Kheune uses. He also had a daimana 93 X in his driver. It was a cleveland comp and I was surprised to see that my driver was stiffer too. I hit it badly and the shaft felt very wippy too.

I've felt stiffer. Matter of fact it was just yesterday- I had a 3" piece of steel pipe with 1/2" walls while we were laying some block outside for water drainage. Made 8.0's feel like plastic.

I know rifle doesnt make a straight 8.0 freq, but you can work a 7.5 blank to damn near whatever you think you can handle. I had some 7.5's that we worked to play about a 7.8, but Ive never heard of anyone playing over an 8.0, and I spent two years around the LDA guys! This guy must be one heck of a swinger.

I know rifle doesnt make a straight 8.0 freq, but you can work a 7.5 blank to damn near whatever you think you can handle. I had some 7.5's that we worked to play about a 7.8, but Ive never heard of anyone playing over an 8.0, and I spent two years around the LDA guys! This guy must be one heck of a swinger.

maybe he just had rifle 8.0 shaft bands printed up and was actually using 6.0 flex :P

Nope they wre 8.0s. He hit the ball 350 easily. I wish I ould have hit one.

I had a set of Cally X-16 (bore-thru) that had PX 7.0s in them. They were probably one of my favorite sets of clubs to hit. When I went to have them freq-checked at the local shop - 8.3-8.5! Didn't really matter though... Still one of the sets I wish I still had around. Scored some of my best rounds with those sticks. When I would give them to other people to try, I think they just psyched themselves out too much that they HAD to swing super hard. Anyways... I did not know they made above a 7.0. I thought just trimming it however to get the stiffer flexes. In the case of the Cally's, that bore-thru makes them stiffer.
