Drills to help release the club?

Hey guys after a session on the range I finally figured out whats causing the occasion weak fade i get. I am not releasing the club properly through impact meaning the face stays open far too long and things are never going to go well from there! No that i've figured the problem out, I was wandering if anyone had any good drills that I can use to engrain the feeling of releasing the club properly. I want to get it right on the range so all i can think about on the course is the target (bob rotella style) which seems to work very well for me most of the time!

Throw your club to the target.... seriously get an old 6iron or something, then set up just like normal picking a target. When you swing at the ball just let the club go! If you can manipulate where you want the club to go... then the ball should get there first.

 

It works! It will help you release properly... You'll know right away what you're doing wrong. If your hanging on(not releasing) the club will most definately not got to your target. It will probably kill someone.

 

*NOTE* do it in an open field... not at your local range it could cause serious injury.

When you throw a baseball, do you hold onto it? Or just chuck the thing?

 

What about swinging a baseball bat? Do you hang on or do you just hack at the incoming pitch? I tell people to use the baseball analogy when swinging a club. Rarely do people hold on when throwing a baseball, football, swinging a bat. They just throw or swing.
