Problem with UPRO carry case.

I have a upro along with the carry case. I notice that my screen has become very blotchy and figure it's because I use this case quite a bit after a round. I can't attribute this to anything but the carry case. The insides are soft but apparently it's doing something to the screen. I don't carry the upro in my pocket except on rare occasions when I walk to the tee to measure the distance. Anyone else have this problem with the carry case?

No issues with the case, but my screen got blotchy as well last year. It's actually the anti-glare coating on the screen, and it's not very durable. I ended up rubbing the coating off with a microfiber cloth and some LCD screen cleaner, and it looks fine without it.

I've only had mine for a few weeks and it seems that whatever film is on the screen is coming off in spots. Not very noticeable in the sunlight but more noticeable inside when the unit's off.

I think it probably is the anti-glare coating. They say the graphic images are clearer in the sunlight but I find it just the opposite.

No issues with the case, other than the darn USB cord is too long for the little cut out area in the case. Just a weird pet peeve of mine about being anal on stuff like that but no big deal by any means. As far as what the OP mentioned, I think it is just the anti-glare coating coming off. A friend of mine who does not keep his in a case mentioned that issue before I purchased mine. I ended up cutting one of those plastic screen protectors for cell phones to fit the LCD on the Upro to avoid the problem, haven't had any issues with mine. As far as the sun topic everyone else has mentioned, I too find it extremely difficult to read in direct sunlight. Typically I will cup my hand over the screen or hop in the cart parked next to my ball if I am riding. Anti-glare just seems to do the complete opposite in my opinion.

In a completely unrelated note, does anyone else suspect a new unit is going to be available very soon, especially with all of the severe price drops and incentives lately?

Same here - minute or two with the microfiber cloth and it looked better than new.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if I should buy one now or wait. $180 with the travel case is tough to beat.

The anti-glare coating does come off especially if you use chemicals to clean the unit. I had this happen before and they actually gave me a new one. Zagg has a Invisible shield for it for like $14 or so...very useful. I am also concerned about the possibility of a new unit on the way...we'll see.

I'd be amazed if a new unit wasn't on the way. Probably will be announced in October in time for holiday gifting.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with and if they change the form factor. After having the current one for a while I really like the convenience of being able to put the upro in my pocket while playing. Happened on an SGX demo a couple of weeks ago and while I'm sure I'd get used to it, I thought it was way too bulky. I'm sure some would look at the upros smaller screen and say they could never get used to one so small.

If they do come out with a new unit what I would want is better battery life. I'm able to get only one round of golf in and most of the time I'm using basic mode but when I finish I have 20% left. I would also like better pro mode views as some are kind of hard to figure out exactly what is depicted. However I feel that this is because of the quality of the various aerial views.

I agree that it seems clearer and brighter without the coating. I don't miss it.
