MP14 3-PW w/Rifle 6.5 at 2nd swing for $99

Any point to buying them?

I should say that while I'm happy with my 990's, I have the new equipment bug. Ebay/PGA Valueguide says I'm getting a good deal, but I doubt I'll ever use them, and the short irons (especially PW) are so ugly.

Can anyone think of a good reason I should pick them up? I've got $65 in credit...which would otherwise go toward a 13* Retro Spoon w/actual Speeder 757 stiff for only $20 (gut it for the shaft?) leaving me with still $45.

I would get both! And I think if you don't use them, you can even make a profit on ebay.

I'm thinking that I might just keep the MP14's as a forged backup set...but the lofts are 2* weaker than my 990 and the lie is 3* flatter :cheesy:

Get the Mizunos. You should be able to get them bent for $4-$5 a club. Still an excellent value, especially with rifles.

actually...here in illinois if u buy an iron set and u need loft/lie bent etc they did it for me as long as they weren't busy(they don't get much business and they have like 3-4 guys working there). So ask about it in a nice manner and I'm sure they'll bend them to your specs for you.

get the 14's. they are one of the greatest sets of irons of all time. they are traditionally lofted so there is absolutly no need for a gap wedge and the gaps fall in perfectly.

I would never use a set spec'd to require a gap wedge - my 990 PW is bent 1* strong so I have 48/54/60 wedges. The MP14 PW is 50 deg so it doesn't give me a nice, even spacing.

So today I went and got them. They don't feel much different than my 990's, though I think the grips are heavier which surprising makes them feel a LOT heavier and of course reduces the swingweight to ~C8. Now the question is whether I replace the grips or add lead tape.

The guy was really nice and I watched him bend the lie/loft to what I like.

I ended up dumping my 990's on them for $154. Not bad considering that's the average Ebay selling price. Picked up the Tour Spoon but don't like the shaft myself so I guess I'll have it pulled it put it up for sale.

Also picked up an Adams Redline Ti 460cc 8.5* with stock stiff. It goes pretty far but I have a slice miss...will film my swing tomorrow to see whether the shaft is flexing like crazy (my prediction).

Now whether I should dump my 905S :cheesy:

Hey guys, can anyone give me the standard loft specs for a set of MP 14s? I know they are weak but I can't find any specs online. Can anyone help? :cheesy:
