Where you you keep the case?

Looking at possibly getting the GX-3 rangefinder...however I'm worried about the case that comes with it.

After reading some reviews, it looks like the case only has a belt loop. I'd want to attach it to my carry bag...but I'm not sure how I would do that. I'm guessing I'd have to undo one of the carry straps, and thread it thru there. How do you guys use it?

I know, I'm a bit nit-picky, but if I'm spending $300+ I'd like it to do a simple function of just clipping it onto the bag!

The cases for the GX-1, Callaway LR800 and Bushnell Tour V2 have a clip hook on them (I'm also considering getting one of these) and they seem to work well, I'm not sure why Leupold would take it off on their newer rangefinders.

Any input is appreciated...thanks!

My Ping Hoofer Vantage has a very small but deep pocket on the front of the "coal chute" pocket and the top is angled so that it is open towards you when the bag is strapped to your back. I keep it in there during rounds so I can take it out while walking to save time. After the round I simply put it back in the zippered compartment.

I thought about attaching it to the bag how you mentioned or using a zip tie and a spare towel clip but I do not want it flailing about as the magnet closure can be agitated open. Find a pocket that works for you while the bag is on your back, even if you have to open the zipper all of the time it isn't too much trouble since you have ample time while walking to your ball.

Its not that hard to figure out.
I personally use the belt loop and have it towards my right hip.

If you want it on your bag, you can buy a caribeaner big enough to hook the loop to it.
Either way, its the best rangefinder on the market IMO.
I wouldn't let the case steer you away from it.

I just love the bright red LED readout on the screen.

I use the GX-4 and as recommended in the last post I use a quality carabiner to hang it from my bag. I also go the extra yard to stuff a spacer into the belt loop to keep the carabiner position limited to the top of the loop. I have had the pouch invert and I don't trust the magnetic closure to keep the unit from popping out. Since I tightened up the fit this hasn't been a problem.

Great RF though. The display is second to none under all conditions.

Check out Nikon for the yoyo. I put the velcro on both sides for my glove.
