Oldie... don't know much about it

I have a TaylorMade Pro-Formance Putter that has come into my posession. I don't know anything about it, other than it is from the 80's and the PGA trade in value is $5.17.

Are/Were these any good in their day?

It has a huge offset, and a fairly heavy head. I will probably never putt with it, but does anyone have any experience with or knowledge about these putters? A search here yielded no results.

Don't know much about them either, but i have one too. The head is a blade, with a smooth curved back and a cut-out the size of the ball in the flange, and it has a goose neck or "santa fe" neck. It belonged to my old man and i dug it out of the shed one day and HATED it. But i grew to love it actually, it still had the original grip (Shiny smooth and worn wrap of some sort, it was butter). But alas one day i tried to throw my ball in the air and hit it, and it hit the hozel and it snapped the metal part the goes in the shaft. :black eye: :fool: :cry: So now its just on the shelf, anyone know what i can do?

But alas...!! Ha, too funny. Nice story. I am sorry to hear about your putter. I tried that trick once with a PGA T-Line when I was a frustrated junior golfer. It was my best shot of the day! Solid contact in the center of the putter face, about 65 yards with a little draw.

I still play my Taylor made pro formance steel blade putter. It puts great for me and I love the sight line when I’m looking down at the ball. I have had it since the late 1980s. I average 36 putts a round I’m a 23 hcp player. I’ve tried other putters but I always go back to this one. An oldie but a goodie.
