Nike Forged Blades, Mizuno Mp-37, or Titleist 695MB

Who Forges these clubs and which is the best?
I'm trying to decide between these clubs. I am wanting all the information I can get about them. How they play, spin characteristics, ball flight, feel, companys that do the forging, material used, differences in material, head weights, swing weights, types of scoring groves, bounce characteristics appearances, ect. , jsut all the information I can get. I need to make my mind up by Monday. I have hit the mizuno and the nike, I have not hit the 695MB, curious as to how it feels. I admire how the mizuno feels but the face wear is a factor seeing I practice everyday to otherday. the nike seems to hold up fairly good as far as wear is concerned but hesiatant about the weaker lofts, might have to pull a club out of the bag to maintain distances. Also the nike seems, in my opninion to creat the best spin to trajectory ratio. The Mizuno seems to spin the golf ball more and could see it being an issue into wind. I find it harder to control the trajectory with the mizuno, but think it feels a tad bit softer on slightly off center shots as compared to the Nike. Would love to hear any further information anyone may have about the questions I stated above and the characteristics of the 695 MB. I really need help here...

Not trying to dump on your thread but why take our word for it? Go try them all out if it's possible. That's the only way to be 100% sure they'll be what you want. Ask 100 people and you'll likely get 100 different answers. Plus, it's a lot more fun spending an hour or so hitting balls with different irons at your local Golf Galaxy or someplace simular. Simp

Mizuno is forged by Mizuno(they have a sole source contract with a forging co that only does their clubs)

Nike used to be Endo(2004 and before) but now they use a cheaper forging co in China/Mexico(one place does the forging and the other does the chroming)

Titleist uses Endo for all their 600 series irons. The 700 series uses a similar process as Nike now (Mexico/China).

I have only hit the Nike a few times but have played both the 37s and 695s. The 37s are a lower trajectory iron and is easier to work the ball than the 695s. However, with workability comes a loss of forgiveness. In terms of feel, Mizuno is just a totally different club in terms of feel. Either people love the soft feel or they hate it. Titleist definitely has a much more clicky feel but some people prefer than over the muted Mizunos. The 2004 Nike blades and earlier felt very similar to the Titleist 600 series b/c they were Endo but I found them less forgiving on mishits and a little lower ball flight.

Most people also either hate the short irons(esp PW) from Mizuno of love them. The reverse offset Mizuno uses vs. progressive offset is totally different look at setup vs. Titleist or Nike. I would definitely make sure you demo and hit the short irons from Mizuno vs. just taking a demo with the 6 or 7 iron.

As far as bounce and other specs, just go to their websites and view and print all that stuff off. Have fun deciding on your new set. Nothing like the high of being a new set sticks.... :idhitit:

And as far as asking for feedback and suggestions on different irons.....isn't that what a forum is all about??

Of course it is! But just go to the "Ball Review" section and see how many different reviews you get for one ball. Go to the "Driver Review" section and see how many different reviews you get for any driver. Everyones' perception of feel is different. Until we all swing just like one another it always will be. Bottom line, if you want the honest truth on how something performs...hit it yourself! JMO, Simp

I do agree with going out an hitting the irons. I have for the two I spoke of. I can not find anyone in my local area that has a demo in the 695mb. I spoke of my own findings with the Nike and Mizuno and was wondering how others felt about the clubs. I gave imput on the ones I hit to give an idea of the type of feedback I was wanting to hear from the 695. My thought is if you can put good swings on the ball then the club is going to react the same for everyone. I was just looking for standard imput about the club and information that you can not find on the companys website. but thanks TIGERLURCH that was what I was looking for. If anyone can add to this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks eveyone

another note: I was able today to look at a set in the golf store. The 695 that is, it seemd to be heavier. Did anyone else get this feeling?

Hit 695MB #8 at Golf Smith in El Segundo.

The rep was kind enough to let me hit a new club from the display.

Of course he taped up the face and the sole with masking tape and because of the tapes I couldn't get 100% feed back.

There was no WOW factor for me.

It almost felt like J33 or MP-60.

Personally I like MP-37 just for the feel.

So I guess 695MB isn't as smooth as MP-37 per your information.

But it was very solid and easy to hit.

Don't know if it's true but the rep said Titleist never gave out demos for 695s.

Good luck finding the right clubs.
