Advice Needed - G5 FW or 906F2 - Best all around

I am looking at purchasing either the G5 or 906F2 as a 3 wood option and was wanting some opinions. I plan on playing this mostly from the tee, but will occassionally need to play it from the fairway. Which of these two will provide more forgiveness and be able to be played from the fairway?

I don't have any experience with the Titleist, but the G5 sucks. Its not spectacular off the tee, its only okay from the fairway, and that Mickey Mouse alignment aid on the top looks horrible.

 

compared to my v-steel, the G5 doesn't hold up and I suspect my v-steel shares more similarities with the Titleist.

If you don't mind my asking, what's making you unhappy about the TM R7st? I've been debating between giving the TP and the st a try.

Honestly, its not as consitently long as other 3 woods I have had. I played the 904F w\ S300 for 6 months and almost wish I never switched. I was very long and fairly forgiving for me...

Simply put, if you liked the 904, you'll LOVE the 906. Greatly improved IMHO. Better trajectory, lower spin, and much easier to hit off the turf, but still plenty deep enough to use off the tee. A lot of people have had concerns with the V2 shaft, and while it works very well for me in X flex, all of the concerns have got to be warranted. Just be careful and pick the right shaft, and you will have a very workable, very long 3 wood.

SQ is pretty solid. High launch. Easy off the deck. Plenty deep enough for off the tee. I almost mentioned this one before, but was not sure if it interested you. Stock shaft needs replacement (no surprise.) Plenty long. Good forgiveness.

 

The one nice thing about the G5 and SQ is that their larger size makes for a good transition from a 460cc driver. They don't look so "small." Even the 906F is a little larger. I have the 904F and find it easier to hit off the fairway honestly than the 906F. But that could be shaft-related too.
