Moved back to Maine

Seriously, three weeks I have been back in Maine and it has rained every day I have been here. What did you guys do to the weather while I was in the mid-west? lol

There are new water hazards on my course. Standing water in the fairways that is knee deep. Now we are going to have a hurricane make land and our course is already saturated. Had a ball disappear INTO the green on a par 3. Buried itself under the surface.

Southern/Eastern Maine has been [i]very [/i]dry up until the week you moved back in. I hear it hasn't been so dry up north. But the courses have been drying out bad. Irene is gonna put the kibosh on play fore a few days it seems, and that stinks because this is the time that I love to play....after the tourists leave.

Where are you again? Houlton area or something? I can't remember

Fort Fairfield, up by Presque Isle. I play at Aroostook Valley CC. Been a member there for more than twenty years and never can remember it being so wet. Predicting rainfall up here anywhere between 4-10 inches in addition to what is already on the course. Will probably have to close the course for a week if we actually get that amount of water.
