Looks like Jim Furyk will get it. Hes #2 on the list and not laying this week, and neither is Adam Scott who is in 3rd.

I don't think he really cares, considering what he went throught this year and the dominance he showed through the last 6 stroke play tournaments. I guess he feels that everyone knows he deserves the trophy, even though he won't receive it because he missed the min. amt. of rounds required yearly. Nobody can argue that he is definitely the best in the world and player of the year by a long way.

One thing I haven't heard mentioned amongst the media, and one I'm sure Tiger has thought about is that if he had made the cut at the US Open, he would have had the necessary rounds required to qualify for the Vardon Trophy. . .

Yup...maybe it will come up after he officially does not win. All he had to do was play this week...so I guess when you have won as many of these as he has they lose meaning...hahaha

That's another good point. He does hold the record for most Vardon Trophies, I believe, with six. None of his contemporaries are even close.

Wait I am confused. pgatour.com says he has played 55 rounds and has 15 events so 60/15=4 rounds per tourney. He missed the cut at US Open so that's 58 rounds. Where did the other 3 go?

12 events X 4 rounds = 48

 

+ 2 rounds for US Open = 50

+ 2 rounds for Nissan = 52

+ 3 rounds credit for Accenture Match Play = 55

Tiger is travelling to china to play in the hsbc which is straight after east lake so I think he just wants to have a good rest before those two hectic weeks. I think skipping the Funai tournament was a good move from Tiger, after all he would't want to end his streak in such a mediocre tournament...

With as many wins and trophies as he has, I don't think it will phase him to miss this one. LOL

he's also unofficially won the European tour and the PGA money list more than 3 times...but who cares :)
