Two milestones out of the way!

Eagle and sub-80 round
1 year and 3 months after picking up this crazy game, I've finally accomplished 2 more milestones: first ever eagle and first sub-80 round :)
The eagle was accomplished in the less conventional way - holing out from 230 yards (3 FW) after bad drive. The sub-80 round I'm less proud of... First, it was on a very easy 6000 yard/112/67.8 course. Second, the round should have been much better - I was 2 over through 9 (par 34) only to mess up on the back for a 43. Luckily, I had no idea what my score was until the end. Otherwise, I don't think I would have birdied the 18 :pimp:

Congrats. You always remember your first eagle :):):pimp: Now what are you going to set your goals at? I know after I broke 80 I set my goal at 75, Once I hit that, I aimed for par. Now that I am breaking that I am aiming for 67, (which is my best round ever). Just set your goals and then strive to achieve them.

Good stuff... Not worrying about your score really helps your game. I just broke 80 not too long ago myself, and now I don't know why it took so long to break that barrier.

I cannot see a now sub 80 player is just having an eagle. I would've thought that came sooner. It's has to be the putting right. I can always at least once get on the green in 2 on a par 5 then totally suck the putt.

Anywho... congrats keep it up!

Goals? Well, let's see... I don't ever want to see 100+ on my score card, that's for sure :smilie_titty:

As far as scoring goes, I don't think I'll be visiting the sub-80 region that often in the near future (winter's coming fast), but it would be nice to consistantly score in the 80s... REGARDLESS of the course difficulty.

Well, Then make that your goal when you start back. All it takes is practice, and the ability to go from 80 to 70 is normally always in the short game. Just cut a couple of putts a round and youu'll be there. I have a feeling that come next year around this time you will be mid to low 70's if you keep up with it and practice. Best of luck.

Another one of my 2 cents. LOL

Oh, putting.... That thing.... Yeap, it sucks big time :) I've had several eagle putts this season, but none came close to going in. Heck, if I don't have at least 2 or more 3 putts per round, I'm doing great :pimp:

My driving is on and off, but recently I've been hitting the ball well. Long and straight, with an occasional push slice or duck hook mixed in to keep me honest. The irons are also working well, especially the scoring ones. Short game has improved greatly in the last month or so, especially since I realized that there are clubs besides 52* wedge that can be used for chipping around the green :smilie_titty:
