Charity Golf Tournament - Palm Valley Golf Club, Sept 8th

We are hosting a charity golf tournament to benefit Be The Match on September 8th, 2012 at Palm Valley Golf Club in honor of Johnny Garcia. We are seeking golfers and sponsors for the tournament. Individual player registration is $79 and includes golf and lunch. Corporate sponsorships are $450 and include golf for four and two tee box signs. Individual tee box signs are available for $75.

 

Through this event, our goal is to raise funds to support Be The Match Foundation. Be The Match operates the national marrow donor registry, matching marrow donors with patients in need of a live-saving marrow transplant. The cost to test and add one donor to the registry is $100 and all the money we raise will go directly to funding marrow drives and testing donors in the Southwest. The need to diversify the registry is huge. We will also have a marrow drive at the tournament so we can register more donors.

 

We are planning a great event with fun hole competitions and a 50/50 helicopter ball drop. Most importantly, the proceeds to this tournament will go to a very good cause. . .helping to add donors to the marrow registry for patients in need of a transplant who can't find a match.

Quick Facts:

 

-About 40,000 people will be diagnosed with a blood cancer each year

-About 10,000 of those diagnosed will need a transplant

-Each full-blooded sibling will only have a 25% chance of being a match

-About 70% of patients that need a transplant will need to find a match on the registry

 

There are many ways to help or contribute even if you don't golf! Individual tee box signs are $75. Golf balls for the 50/50 helicopter ball drop are 1 for $10 or 3 for $20 and can be purchased at the link above. First ball in wins 50% of the money we raise and you do not need to be present to win.
