Counter Weights for a putter

I am a highschool golfer and I don't know much about club adjusting. However I want to add some weight to my ping Wack-e putter. Lead tape won't work with the head design. So how else could I add weight

Depends where you want to add the weight. Counter weighing as mentioned is adding weight to the grip end. It will increase the total weight of the putter, while making the head feel lighter (decreases swingweight). To increase headweight, you have to add weight to the putter head. You don't want to use lead tape, and the Wack-e model may be a bit tough to add weight directly on the head.

I recommend adding weight to the shaft. I've had success using heavier shafts, and also tip weights (same as iron tip weights used by clubmakers and manufacturers). The Wack-e may be trickier to remove the shaft, so I suggest putting tungsten powder down the shaft and corking it. I previously did not like the idea of adding weight to the shaft, but it has worked well for a couple of my putters. Good luck!

The Tour Lock Optivibe can be installed through the grip fairly far down into the shaft, so it is possible to add total weight while adjusting the impact on swingweight. You would need to see if Tour Lock has an agent in your area, if they do they will typically offer fitting sessions. The Optivibes come in different weights and require a grip modifier tool and a special installation/removal tool. To complete the look you also need to install one of their Tour Lock pro counterweights of choice to fill the hole in the back of the grip.

Balance Certified also makes a "shaft stabilizer for putters" which is an adjustable counterweight that can adjust swingweight by about 2-3 points.

If you go with a counterweight only you'll probably want to add weight at the head end within the shaft, either with tungsten powder and corking or else by pulling the shaft and reinstalling it with lead cylinder tip weights.
