Serious help needed...

Seriously need some tips, finding that I'm getting worse rather than getting better. Have no consistency, only been playing about 3 months (every weekend), broke 100 once but am normally up around 110-120. Apologies, the frame cuts out a large part of the back swing, but to be fair I think the problem lies in my downswing.

I would start with better posture. Straighten your back a bit. On the backswing you could learn to open the clubface some as you rotate back. And get the feel for how to turn your hands over to shut the club through impact.

If your serious about golf here are some things you could youtube. Golf grip, golf posture, golf backswing, golf downswing, golf swingplane, and golf release. Thats actually quite a bit.

Those are the fundamentals. If you learn each of these steps methodically you could probably build yourself a decent swing in time. Over time you can tweak it for what works for you. Goodluck and take your time.

And if you wanna break 100 asap, learn golf backwards. Green to tee. Not tee to green. The fastest way to.shave 15 strokes is putting and chipping.
If you can chip it close enough to 1 putt you save par. Chipping and putting are usually free. Do 40 minutes of each 3 times a week and your score will go way down.

Practice lag putting and get 3-4 footers on lock.

Then different chipping lies. From the fringe, and deep rough pitches. Learn when and where to choose the bump and run over a pitch or flop. You can chip from the fringe with a 7,8,9 iron or p-wedge to get more run as if your putting. Or the lob or sand wedge if you need it to pop drop and stop when you dont have much green to the flag.

A practice bunker could also save you a few strokes. With a bunker you just want a clean out onto the green in 1 shot. Its about learning to hit that little bit of sand behind the ball to splash it out. Your not trying to pick it clean. Only in a fairway bunker.

You could youtube "reading greens" to help approach tricky greens. Theres many different approaches. I thought i'd just give u some food for thought. Hey goodluck. And keep your head down though all your shots with everyclub in the bag. Putting and chipping included.

There are several things going on. I really feel a lesson or two would help. Having a correct set up and grip will make a difference for you. Go see a pro and get the basics and the scores will drop. As the above posters stated work green to tee and see what you can pull from videos. Good luck on your journey my friend...its never ending
